Ventura County builders often require construction staking. Construction staking is a unique branch of land survey because it  involves the immediate use of the survey, in the field, for construction.  To GP Salmen & Associates, that means several things:

It means that GP Salmen & Associates stakes are checked as they are set.  Later that day, we will double-check in the office.

It means that an easy to understand 24×36” staking plan (often referred to as a “Cut Sheet” ) be left on the site the day of.  Whenever practical, the GP Salmen & Associates staking plan will be the same scale as the project plans.

A word about plans.  We place a high degree of importance on checking with the plan “author” (e.g. civil/structural engineer, architect) to be sure that we have the latest revision.

And, for GP Salmen & Associates, the immediate nature of the construction survey triggers a very close coordination by us with the contractors and/or subcontractors with regard to offsets, line stakes, and prioritization of tasks, before we mobilize.
